What is micro- merchandising?
Hi Aileen - thanks for asking!
Micro-merchandising is the practice of adjusting the merchandising strategy on a location-by-location basis. For example, if a chain store has an outlet by the beach, and another in the city, it would make sense to stock suntan lotion and beach balls at the store at the beach, but not at the one in the city.
That is a simple example based upon geography, but there are numerous criteria upon which to adjust tactics at the store level.
What exactly do clothing store merchandise managers do?
what are some clothing store merchandise managers experiences and skills?
Hi Stacy! Thanks for commenting, depending upon the level of experience and skills, a clothing store manager might be responsible for deciding how clothing is displayed in the store, in store windows, and on the racks.
Experience and background might include working in a retail store or setting, graphic design, even work with materials like plastics and metal to help decide how merchandise can be presented to customers in the most appealing way.
Does that help?
